All that really matters...

One day you'll realize that material things mean nothing.
All that really matters is the well-being of the people in your life.

If you do own them, they would mean a lot and would certainly help better the lives not only yourself but of your loved ones on this earth as well if you use/share them lovingly and wisely. Of course when you are no longer a part of this earth it won't mean a thing, but will still do to your loved you've left behind. Just be satisfied with what you have in this life and don't covet others' material things.

I've always known material things don't matter. Our material possessions of this world.. stays behind when we depart. We cannot take anything with us. However, I would like to say that you might want to clean house & downsize if you can, because we never know what could happen in a heartbeat. I have stuff to occupy my time with arts, crafts, sewing, painting, books, cooking, gardening, clothing, papers & electronics. Don't know what to do with items you want to get rid of: donate to Goodwill and/or to Salvation Army, take items to your community neighborhood church, homeless shelters, have garage sales & give handouts to people who could use items that would normally be collecting dust around the house. These are just some ideas I had in mind.

But, when it comes to people & animals that mean the world to you, you have to make time to do your best & let them know how important they are. I did that last week with my 89 year old mother who will be turning 90 years of age on June 2nd. I told my mom how much she meant to me, that I loved her with all my might & how eternally grateful I was for everything she sacrificed for all of her 5 children she had, including myself. She said, she knows how much I do. That meant a lot to me. One thing she always told me was no matter how busy I was, to try to give her 5 minutes of my time to pick up the phone & say.. mom I'm thinking of you & I love you. That there makes a whole lot of difference. And, even if your parents are gone, take a moment to say a prayer, tell your loved ones how grateful you are for all that they did for you & your family. I visited my dad's grave, prayed & talked to him. And even though he's in heaven, that time I gave to them was uplifting and peaceful to me. It was a moment of remembering and showing that you haven't forgotten them. I just wanted to express...that time is of the essence and we make what life is all about in our everyday lives. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes, but we need to be living in the moment and doing the best that we can do for ourselves & for others, is all we can do. We have to do something that will make a better difference in our world whatever that may be. We live, learn, and grow older with every passing day. Make our communities & world a better place, including caring for our animals, our innocent children, our elders, pray for the sick, the poor & the homeless. Remember to keep our streets clean, including parks & beaches. Please properly throw away trash in garbage bins & recycle. Make the best of your time and use it wisely. God bless you all. ❤Alpina❤ Reflection of My Heart

I like to think that the more one possesses the more they become possessed or obsessed with the things they possess. The more things we have the more responsibilities we have to take care of them and store them.

Material things aren't important to me, the precious moments that are spent with my loved ones are very important. Making sure that I do everything that I can do to help them and not hinder anyone. I try to add to my family and friends joy/ etc..not take anything from their lives, that benefits their well-being.

So very true. Material things have became less and less meaningful to me. As I get older I realise I'd like to spend as much time with my family but unfortunately they lead very busy lives. I know my house and belonging are merely loaned to me for my time here on earth. Heaven I'll need nothing but my dear saviors arms.

Thank God for Jesus
Help me, O Lord, to walk in the Spirit, that i fulfill not the lusts of the flesh. Let me be led of your Spirit who dwells in me, led into holiness of heart and life. Test my thoughts, examine my words, shed the light of your Word on each step I take. I am not skilled to walk alone, Lord, but must constantly rely on you for guidance and strength for the journey.

The truth

True, except when you don't have special people in your life, material possessions are the only things you have. Not everyone has family around or multitudes of friends in their lives.

Your TIME means more to the people you love than gifts or inheritances...make things right with the folks that matter. If you don't have many of those folks in your life? Make time to be kind to a neighbor, a checkout clerk, a frazzled mom with kids or an elderly person. Even if YOU are that lonely eledrly person, the people you see every day can still benefit from your smile and a blessing, or perhaps a prayer said in private on their behalf. There is ALWAYS SOMETHING we can do to show love to the people(sick of people? Plennnnty of animals in shelters that would love a visit) Material things. Just. Don't. Matter. In the end.
