Dad's Empty Chair At Christmas.

What I'd give if I could say,
"Hello Dad" in the same old way.
To hear his voice and see his smile,
to sit with him and chat for a while.
So if your Father is still here,
cherish him with care,
for you'll never know the heartache
until you see his empty

  1. This is so true . You never realize how much you will miss your dad . And the talks you had. When you thought you knew everything, and then realize later how right and smart he really was. His caring touch and concern when you were ill. Or when you were hurting and he'd do something that he knew you liked, or fixed you something to eat and talk to you. Oh how many times I've wanted to say , how much I love him and ask his forgiveness for some stupid thing I did when I was young. Yes we miss our mother but a father is as special as she, and it seems we listen to what she said, didn't make as many mistakes.

  3. I miss my Dad a whole lot!! He was abusive to me, but I believe he came to know Jesus in his later years and I will see him in heaven and the first thing I will say to him is "I'm sorry for being such a disappointment and source of constant problems for you" Then I will tell him I never stopped loving him and he was a good dad and an honorable man!!! 7. My father passed in 2002, and I still miss him so much. Of course, the pain has eased, but there are times when just thinking about him can bring tears to my eyes. I couldn't have asked for a better father.
