Grandparenting for me, is proof the curse : "I hope you have one just like you." ...works ! I enjoy watching my kids try to scold my grandkids...trying not to laugh...or trying to do it differently than they were raised, but nevertheless, I am pleasantly surprised (and somewhat flattered) to get random phone calls or texts "requesting" tips, on "how do I deal with these brats?" There was no such thing with my Grandmother. I was raised up on Old School Discipline, and there was a 4 letter word which made you obey her. It was called: B-E-L-T. Whenever I was with her I kept my mouth shut and if I wanted something I asked her for it. It still runs within the Family now as well.
