The Bathtub Test. During a visit to a mental asylum, I asked the director "How do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized?" "Well", said the director, "We fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a tea cup and a bucket to the patient and ask them to empty the bathtub" "Oh, I see, So a normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the tea cup" I replied "No", said the director, "A normal person would pull the plug, Do you want a bed near the window?" |

ReplyDeleteI over analized..i usely carry my earl grey tea...so was going to make a cup of tea in teacup...unplug tub..flip bucket over to sit on and have some quiet time...

ReplyDeleteGee I passed the test with flying colors, but last minute when he asked about a bed near the window, i was asking myself, how did he jump from the subject about the tub to the bed? I guess it means they think your going to fail it, so they ask where would you like to sleep? lol If your a lunatic, they shouldn't have you near the window, because you may be crazy enough to jump out. lol

ReplyDeleteVery funny! However, experienced as a peer advocate supporting those labeled as mentally ill, has taught me that it's that's easy to be locked up as one w/ MI. Needs to change. We are people too.

ReplyDeleteOH MY I FAILED. Well I just lost my better 1/2 this past Tuesday so my head is clouded. Not to mention most of the tubs I've seen for years now don't need a plug to fill it up. So does that mean I am safe? LOL
