The same thing happened to me mate... although my baby (first child) was a mere 6 weeks old, all because of a mother-in-law from hell! We did get back together but over the years and 3 CHILDREN LATER and with her twisting the knife in all the time and basically making my then wife, leave me all the time, I eventually had enough and I finally ended it myself!
some bad choices destroy lives. how do you move past these things.Do you just forgive or forget. How can you forget or forgive? the movie in my head won't turn off.
Acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person. place, thing or situation - some fact of my life-unacceptable to me and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake. Until I could accept my situation, I could not stay happy; unless I accept life completely on life's terms, I will not be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and my attitudes.
How do you forgive or forget if they feel like they didn't do wrong. Refuse to take blame, say you just need to accept shit happens. Never told her it was over. She had no faults. why do the innocent suffer and society accept it it just normal for man. God's line is busy or I don't matter to him.
Not to forgive is to be imprisoned by the past, by old grievances that do not permit life to proceed with new business. Not to forgive is to yield oneself to another's control. If one dose forgive, then one is controlled by the other's initiatives and locked into a sequence of act and response, of outrage and revenge, tit for tat, escalating always. The present is endlessly overwhelmed and devoured by the past. FORGIVENESS FREES THE FORGIVER...
No one is perfect, I agree. People make bad choices and mistakes, I agree. We should forgive and never forget, I agree.
But do you stay with someone who lied to you, betrayed you? What if you try to be the better person, and give the person a chance, to be lied to and betray again? When enough of a second or third choice is enough? How serious or important a friendship or relationship need to be (when children are included) to give someone another chance? When the bad behavior starts to be abusive behavior and it is time to get out?
I wish my wife would realize this and come back home with our three month old baby...
